The Aztecs: one of the iconic civilisations from world history. Exactly 500 years ago, the great Aztec Empire came to an end at the hands of a handful of Spaniards and their indigenous allies. This landmark event is what sparked this major exhibition.
Impressive artefacts such as stone sculptures, refined jewellery pieces and drawings from manuscripts, brought to life by way of remarkable stories and modern-day insights: these are the ingredients of this exhibition. An international collaborative project involving leading archaeologists from Mexico and the Museo Nacional de Antropología in Mexico City and many others. It is unique on account of the international loans and masterpieces on display, some of which have not previously been seen outside of Mexico.
