On February 12, we will celebrate the festive evening opening of Time for Papua—a moment to embrace the richness of Papuan art, community, and global art history together. This exhibition also marks a special new chapter for the museum: Time for Papua is the first presentation in our upcoming redesign, a process in which we are working on a renewed, inclusive view of our collections and stories.

We look forward to welcoming you from 7 p.m. for a walk-in and a welcome drink.

At 7:30 p.m., Marieke van Bommel will officially open the program. From 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., we will conclude the evening with an informal gathering filled with music, conversation, and exchange—a moment for the Papuan diaspora, network partners, and cultural creators from Leiden and the surrounding area to celebrate, connect, and look ahead in light of this new phase for the museum.

We hope to welcome you on this special evening.
